The Canyon Sages is an organization
dedicated to our seniors
The Canyon Sages is Topanga’s first and only social and service organization designed for Topanga’s older generation. The Sages was born in 2009 as a committee of the Topanga Town Council set up to create activities for seniors and reach out to those seniors isolated or in need. In the fall of 2013, the Sages changed partners, and is now allied with the Topanga Community Club, under their non-profit umbrella.
The Canyon Sages now numbers 433 members (and counting) and charges no dues. We have over 100 volunteers of all ages, who bring dishes to Sages Socials, (check our Calendar for these once a month events) now serving about 50 a month, run a roster of low-cost classes and free clubs, share information, lobby for senior discounts to local businesses and plan informative lectures and exciting special events.
The non-profit Topanga Community Center (TCC) is raising funds to furnish the Senior Classroom addition to the Community House.

We don’t discriminate against younger folks – the 50-somethings. Membership is open to anyone willing to say they’re Sage-age. And many classes and all our evening programs and lectures are open to all ages. We are dedicated to the Topanga Spirit of Life: Exuberance, Merriment and Mentoring. Be a Sage, or Buddy with a Sage – Be a Member or Volunteer! We welcome you and your friends!
